In a previous article, we introduced a solution to the problem of waking your computer from sleep mode when you move the mouse, but in some environments, moving the mouse may still wake your computer from sleep mode after you set this option.
Solved! Moving the mouse while the computer is in sleep mode wakes it up
This time, we will introduce a solution to the problem where your computer wakes from sleep even after unchecking "Allow this device to wake the computer" in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Causes of waking up from sleep
Even if you uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer," the reason sleep still occurs is because of "Away mode." (This may not be effective depending on the environment.)
With Away Mode enabled, your computer will go to sleep but won't actually go to sleep completely, just like you're taking a nap with one eye open.
You can change the Away mode in Power Options under "Change advanced power settings."
However, this item is hidden by default, so you need to edit the registry to make it visible.

Editing the registry
If you operate the registry incorrectly, it may cause problems such as the system being unable to start. Please make a backup in advance using system restore or similar, and proceed at your own risk.
