Microsoft has announced that after installing Windows 11 version 24H2 on December 18, 2024, users may experience issues with games if AutoHDR is enabled on their device.
Certain affected display configurations may experience incorrect game colors.
Auto HDR is a Windows feature that improves your gaming experience by automatically converting Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content to High Dynamic Range (HDR), but it can also cause some games to become unresponsive.
Microsoft is now stopping the release of version 24H2 via Windows Update for PCs with Auto HDR enabled.
Until the issue is resolved, you can work around the issue by disabling the Auto HDR feature.
1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and click "Display settings".
2. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Display" and click slightly to the right of the words "Use HDR."
3. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Display" > "HDR". Scroll down and turn off "Auto HDR".
