In some environments where the driver AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 released by AMD on January 23, 2024 has been installed, there is an issue where GPU usage reaches 100%.
The currently known graphics cards that are experiencing problems are:
- 7900XTX
- RX 7900 XT
- RX-7800XT
- RX 7700 XT
- RX 7600
This seems to be happening only with the RX 7000 series.
GPU usage will reach 100% when the game is launched or when it is closed, resulting in extremely high power consumption.
Some users have found that using the AMD Cleanup Utility to remove and reinstall the driver software did not improve the situation, but instead reverted to the previous version 23.**.* to resolve the issue.
Some users have also found that updating the video BIOS (BIOS of the graphics card) has resolved the issue.
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 includes support for new games and products, increased FPS, and fixes to known issues.
Resolved Issues
- You may observe performance degradation for some DirectML workloads.
- After upgrading drivers, certain monitors (such as the Nixeus NX-EDG274K) on Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs may intermittently experience a gray screen.
- For certain UWP applications, the Graphics API metrics may show as N/A.
- When playing Warframe, you may experience severe stuttering when loading into a new area or starting a mission.
- When playing Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III, black artifacts may be observed in smoke effects.
- When playing Starfield on some AMD graphics products, such as the Radeon™ RX 5600 XT, you may observe flickering black textures.
- Factory reset can cause intermittent installation failures.
