This time, I would like to introduce how to change the font size and darkness in Windows 11 settings.
Some Windows 11 users are finding the text in the Settings and Start menus to be very faint and difficult to read.
This is especially inconvenient for the elderly and those with poor eyesight.
Some of you may not know this, but in Windows 11, you can change the text size and darkness in the settings without using third-party software.
Just changing the darkness will make it much easier to see, so please give it a try.
How to change the font size and darkness in Windows 11
Change the font size
1.Start buttonRight-click > Settings.
2. "Settings" will open, so click "Accessibility" on the left and then "Text Size" on the right.
3. A slider that allows you to change the text size will appear on the right, so try moving it to the right.
4. If you increase the text size, you can check the approximate size in the "Text Size Preview" above.
5. Once you have decided on the size, click the "Apply" button to the right of the slider to apply the changes.
Compared to the image above, the text is now larger, right? Try changing it and see for yourself.
If the font size is too large it will be difficult to read, so try changing it to a size that suits you.
It may not be possible to make precise size adjustments using the mouse, so in that case, click the blue circle on the slider once and then use the "↑", "↓", "←", and "→" keys on the keyboard to adjust the size in 1% increments.
Change the font density
1.Start buttonRight-click > Settings.
2. "Settings" will open, so click "Personalization" on the left, scroll down on the right and click "Fonts."
3. Click on "Related Settings".
4. A hidden menu will then appear, so click on "Adjust ClearType text".
You can also change the font weight and size using a tool I created to change the font used by the Windows 11 system.
5. The "ClearType Text Tuner" will appear, so just click "Next".
* "Enable ClearType" is checked by default.
6. Two text samples will be displayed, so select the one that is easier to read and click "Next".
In this case, the left side is darker and easier to see.
7. Next, six text samples will be displayed. Select the one that is easiest to read and click "Next."
In this case, the top left corner is darker and easier to see.
8. Next, six text samples will be displayed. Select the one that is easiest to read and click "Next."
In this case, it seems like nothing has changed.
9. Next, six text samples will be displayed. Select the one that is easiest to read and click "Next."
In this case, the bottom right corner is darker and easier to see.
10. Finally, six text samples will be displayed. Select the one that is easiest to read and click "Next."
In this case too, the bottom right corner is darker and easier to see.
11. When the message "Monitor text calibration complete" appears, click "Finish."
12. If you leave it like this, the settings may not be reflected, so please sign out of your PC.
The text darkness will be reflected when you sign in to your PC.
This is the right-click menu for the Start button, and it's much easier to see.
The text of apps in the Start menu has also become darker.
It also affects text in browsers, store apps, and other software that does not control the size or darkness of the text itself.
If you want to return the intensity to the original level, click "Next" without selecting anything in steps 5 to 10, then click "Finish" and sign out.
