This time, we will introduce how to fix the issue where apps cannot be launched after system restore in Windows 11 version 22H2.
I recently tested a bug announced by Microsoft that caused some Windows applications that use the MSIX Windows app package format to fail to launch after performing a system restore to a previous restore point on a PC running Windows 11 version 22H2.
System restoreThis is a feature that allows you to restore the previous state if a problem occurs, but there is currently a problem in Windows 11 version 22H2 that can break apps, so be sure to remember how to deal with it.
Unable to start app after system restore
After restoring the system, when I tried to open an image or text file in the target app, I got the following error:
2023/03/28: It seems that sometimes you may get the error "Interface not supported."
If you look at the apps in the Start menu (see image below), you'll notice that some of the app icons have been dimmed (including Notepad).
Click on the dimmed app and a bar will appear below the icon.

After a while the icon will return to normal.
When you launch the app after it has reverted to the normal icon, you will get the following error message the first time: "This app can't be opened."
When I clicked "Close" and then launched the app again, it opened without any errors.
If the app is missing from the Start menu or won't open no matter how many times you try, try repairing the app.
アプリの修復
Press Windows Key + R to open Run, type the following command and press Enter:
ms-settings:appsfeatures
The installed apps will be displayed, so click "..." to the right of the app you want to install and then click "Advanced options."
Click Repair.
Once the repair is complete, a check mark will appear next to the button.
Or try "Reset".
If you open the app in this state and an error message appears, close the error message and try opening the app again.
Alternatively, you may be able to resolve the issue by uninstalling the app from the Microsoft Store and then reinstalling it, or by running Windows Update.
As of now (20223/02/02), there is no information that this issue has been resolved.
If repairing or resetting the app doesn't solve the problem
If repairing or resetting the app doesn't resolve the issue, try "Solution 3 for an unresponsive taskbar" on the next page.
