This time, I would like to introduce a tool I created called "Change System Font" that changes the font used by the Windows 11 system.
Fonts that can be changed with "Change system font":
- Name of the icon in Explorer
- Menus and selections
- The text displayed in the message box
- The text that pops up when you hover the mouse over a file or folder
- The text that pops up when you hover the mouse over the app's toolbar icon
- Fonts in the title bar of some apps, such as Chrome
It's very easy to use, so please give it a try.

Change log:
2025/11/09 Ver 1.0.0.1: Fixed an issue where some fonts were not displayed.
2026/02/08 v1.1.0.0:
[New features/improvements]
- Support for "Per Monitor V2"
- Supports the latest scaling specifications for Windows 11. Even in enlarged display environments such as 125% and 150%, text is no longer blurry and the UI (buttons and frames) is displayed beautifully at the appropriate size.
- "Auto-reload" function when changing display settings
- If you change the Windows magnification (DPI) while the tool is running, the tool will automatically restart to prevent layout disruptions and instantly switch to the optimal display.
- Supports numeric sorting of font size list (Combo2)
- Even if the detected current font size is not the standard (9-14pt), the list will always be sorted in ascending numerical order, greatly improving visibility.
[Bug fixes]
- Fixed "wrong size detection" in high DPI environments
- When launched in a 150% environment, a bug where unintended numbers would appear in the list due to a mismatch in the calculation formula, such as 9pt being mistaken for "6pt", has been completely resolved by revamping the calculation logic (fixed calculation at 96 DPI).
- Fixed size list remaining when switching fonts
- Fixed an issue where special sizes from the previous font would remain in the list even after switching to another font. Now the list is always refreshed to the best fit for the current font.
- Eliminate layout collapse
- Problems with buttons and labels overlapping and going through group boxes at 125% or higher have been resolved by dynamically calculating all coordinates (DPI scaling).

How to use "Change system font" and precautions
How To Use
- Select a font.
- Check this box if you want to make the text bold.
- Check this box if you want italics.
- Check this box if you want to display an underline under the text.
- Check this box if you want to display a strikethrough on the text.
- Select the font size (9 to 14).
- We have determined that text that is too small or too large can be disruptive to work, so we have limited the text size to between 9 and 14.
- Apply all the settings selected above.
- Select the default font for Windows 11.
- Loads the current font settings.
The following image is an example where the font is set to "Meiryo," "Bold," and "Italic," and the font size is set to "11."

"Change system font" does not change the font for all apps and windows.
This is because each app or window has its own way of specifying fonts.
For example, Windows 11Start buttonThe font size of the menu that appears when you right-click on the browser or the font size of the Microsoft Edge title bar cannot be changed using "Change system font."
If you want to change the font size, please refer to the following page and try setting it in combination with "Change system font".
