Solved! Win11 KB5028185 Internet connection is not possible and is interrupted

As mentioned in a recent article, there was a bug in the Windows 11 update KB5028185 that caused users to lose internet connection, but we have now discovered the cause and would like to share it with you.

I have confirmed that after installing recent updates, multiple Windows 11 computers are experiencing issues connecting to the network.

How to fix the internet connection issue after installing the May update

This method is also compatible with Windows 10.

1. Press Windows Key + R to open Run, type the following command and press Enter:

2. Network Connections will open, so right-click on your network adapter and click "Properties".

3. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties."

4. Check "Use DNS server address" and enter the DNS server address.

For example, I use Biglobe Hikari, so I enter Biglobe's DNS server address.

You can find the DNS server address on your provider's website or in the documents sent to you by your provider that contain your network connection ID and password.

5. When you have finished entering the information, click OK > Close to exit Network Adapter Properties.

At this point, you should be able to connect to the network, so open a browser or similar to check.

The icon in the task tray may not change immediately, but will return to normal once a network connection is confirmed.

The cause of this network connection or disconnection issue may be that the DNS server address cannot be obtained automatically.

It depends on the environment, so it may not be possible to solve the problem.

In that case, please refer to the following page to uninstall the update and wait for the latest information.
