Solved! Unable to update Microsoft Store apps: Error 0x80073cf6

The 0x80073cf6 error usually occurs when installing a new app or updating an app that is already installed.

This is often caused by the Microsoft Store itself, and in most cases can be resolved by signing out, clearing the Microsoft Store cache, or repairing or resetting the Microsoft Store app.

How to fix the error 0x80073cf6 that prevents you from updating Microsoft Store apps

Before trying any of the solutions, try restarting your PC to see if that helps.

If that doesn't solve the problem, try the following:

1. Sign out of the Microsoft Store app

If you're signed in to the Microsoft Store app, try signing out and then signing in again.

This may fix the issue of being unable to install apps due to error 0x80073cf6.

2. Clear the Microsoft Store cache

1. Run Command Prompt as administrator.

1. Press Windows key + R to open Run.

2. Type "cmd".

If you do not need administrator privileges, just press Enter.

4. When the "User Account Control" message appears, click "Yes".

2. Once the command prompt opens, enter the following code and press Enter:

wsreset.exe

After a while, the Microsoft Store cache will be reset, and if there are no problems, the Microsoft Store will open automatically, so try updating your apps.

If that doesn't work, try repairing and resetting Microsoft Store.

3. Repair and reset Microsoft Store

1. Press Windows Key + R to open Run, type the following command and press Enter:

2. "Installed Apps" will open, so scroll down and click "System Components" under "Related Settings."

3. Click "..." to the right of "Microsoft Store" and then click "Advanced options."
