Microsoft released update KB5060999 for Windows 11 version 23H2 and update KB5060842 for version 24H2 on June 10, 2025.

These updates include security updates, fixes for known issues, improvements, and new features.

Some features are enabled gradually and may not be available immediately after updating.

KB5060999 and KB5060842 appear to have fixed the issue of garbled text appearing in the menus of some apps, which was a problem that occurred in KB5058502 and KB5058499, which were preview released on May 28-29, 2025.

As a result, garbled characters were no longer an issue in any of the apps listed below, and the issue had been resolved.

  • iTunes

Normally, KB5060999 and KB5060842 are automatically updated via Windows Update, but according to Microsoft, somedeviceThere are confirmed compatibility issues.

Therefore, even if you check for updates in an affected environment, KB5060999 and KB5060842 may not be displayed.

Microsoft says, "If your device is affected, we'll send you a revised update today that includes all of the June 2025 security enhancements." So the improved version of the update will likely be installed automatically today.

Update: KB5063060, a fix for KB5060842, was released on June 11, 2025.
