Among the issues with the Windows 11 update KB5036893 that I introduced the other day, I noticed that the mouse cursor would shake or move on its own when waking up from sleep, as well as the inability to wake up from sleep.
Win11 KB5036893 issues: Mouse cursor shaking, etc.
After putting the computer to sleep just now, I tried to wake it up by clicking the mouse (wired) button as usual, but it didn't respond at all and I was unable to wake it up.
When I looked at the mouse at this time, the light was still on, and even after disconnecting it from the PC and reconnecting it, the buttons did not respond.
Moreover, the keys on the wireless keyboard are no longer responding.
How to wake up from sleep mode and reasons why you can't wake up
Many people press and hold the power button at this point to force a shutdown, but this can damage the system, so you should only do this when absolutely necessary.
If you are unable to wake up your computer using the mouse or keyboard in the above situation, and there are no other issues, you can wake it up by briefly pressing the power button once.
In the case of my PC, the reason it couldn't be resumed was due to mouse operation when putting it to sleep.
The author isStart buttonI right-clicked on the screen > Shut down or sign out > click "Sleep" with the mouse, but then I realized that I was repeatedly pressing the mouse button when doing this.
After that, no matter how many times I try to test it, if I click "Sleep" and then press the button repeatedly, I am unable to wake up using the mouse or keyboard.
It is currently unclear whether this is a bug in KB5036893.

Causes and solutions for mouse cursor shaking or moving on its own after waking up from sleep
In a recent article introducing the bugs in KB5036893, we mentioned that the problem of the mouse cursor shaking or moving on its own after waking up from sleep was resolved by disconnecting and reconnecting the mouse.
Therefore, I thought there might be a problem with the USB connection, but when I tried restarting Explorer while the mouse cursor was shaking, the shaking stopped completely.
Looking at these results, I think it's safe to say that the root cause lies in Explorer.
If your mouse cursor is shaking or moving on its own, try restarting File Explorer.
This site explains how to add the Windows Explorer restart command to the taskbar, so if you're interested, please take a look.
This is very convenient because you can easily restart Explorer by simply clicking the icon added to the taskbar.
