This time, I will show you how to create a shortcut for "Repair Microsoft Edge".
Repairing Microsoft Edge may help resolve issues such as when Microsoft Edge stops working or crashes.
In a previous article, we introduced how to do this from "Apps and Features (Windows 10)" and "Installed Apps (Windows 11)", but in some environments the "Change" button may be grayed out and you may not be able to do this.
If you create a shortcut, you can run "Repair Microsoft Edge" even if the "Change" button is grayed out, so please try creating one.

How to create a shortcut to "Repair Microsoft Edge"
1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop > New > Shortcut.

2. The "Create Shortcut" window will open, so copy and paste the following command under "Type the location of the item":
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe" /install appguid={56EB18F8-B008-4CBD-B6D2-8C97FE7E9062}&appname=Microsoft%20Edge&needsadmin=true&repairtype=windowsonlinerepair
3. Click Next.
4. Under "Enter a name for this shortcut," "MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe" is entered, so change it to "Repair Microsoft Edge" or something similar and click "Finish."
This will create a shortcut, so double-click it to run it.
The "User Account Control" message will appear. Click "Yes" to open "Repair Microsoft Edge."
Clicking "Repair" will automatically download and install the latest version of Microsoft Edge.
Once the installation is complete, Repair Microsoft Edge will automatically close and Microsoft Edge will open.
